We represent the diverse range of Australians who support a transition to a more humane alternative to live animal export.

Our supporters come from all walks of life such as professionals, tradies, kids, grandparents, meat-eaters, non-meat-eaters, city slickers, country dwellers and everyone in between, and include:

  • Producers who want to ensure the welfare of their animals after leaving their farms and who want a more reliable trade that isn’t impacted by stoppages
  • Meat industry workers who want to keep jobs in Australia, and
  • Community leaders who understand the economic benefits of expanding the chilled meat trade.

Becoming a member assists by funding our operations and providing representation to the decision-makers. A united front sends a strong message that the majority of Australians want live animal export to end.

Together, we can end live animal exports.

Support our work

With financial support, we can reach more people and have a greater impact. Your contribution will go towards campaigns and events that raise awareness of the realities of live animal export and further increase support for an end to the cruel trade, as well as lobbying the government for changes to legislation.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on your generosity to carry out our work.

Bequests

Gifting a charitable bequest in your Will to Stop Live Exports is a wonderful way to ensure you can continue to support an end to live animal exports by leaving a lasting legacy.

There are several ways you can make a bequest:

  • Residuary gift – removes the need for you to put a specific value on your bequest, as this is the amount remaining in your estate once your loved ones have been taken care of
  • Nominated percentage – you choose the proportion of your estate you want to gift
  • Pecuniary gift – you select a fixed amount from your estate to bequest to Stop Live Exports

To ensure your wishes are honoured, we recommend you share your plans to gift Stop Live Exports in your Will with loved ones and seek legal guidance.

Let the Decision-Makers Know Your Views

Members of Parliament need to hear from their constituents. They depend on us to let them know what issues are most important in their communities.

A personally written letter to your MP can be a very effective tool for change. When MPs receive multiple letters about the same issue they pay more attention to it (politics is a numbers game after all!).

Share your letter among your networks as a template, and encourage others to personalise it as much as possible. Personalised letters get better results than standardised email templates.

Attend Our Events

Attending our events, such as our annual Human Chain held in Fremantle each October, provides a visual representation that the majority of Australians want live animal export to end.

It takes just one hour of your time to be seen and counted, yet your show of support sends a powerful message to the media and to the decision-makers.

In addition to championing for better welfare outcomes for animals, our events are good fun and you get to meet like-minded people.

Check out some photos of our diverse array of supporters and their families and friends at our previous events. We hope you can join us at some of our future events!

Share our message

Sharing our social media posts helps raise awareness and generate conversation about the need to end live animal export.

It also helps build our supporter base and generates donations to help us end live animal export sooner.

Write a letter to the media

Writing a letter to the editor of your local or regional newspaper is a simple and effective way to reach a large audience and raise awareness of the reasons live animal
export needs to end.

Even if your letter doesn’t get published, it’s useful for educating editors about the unnecessary suffering inflicted by live animal export.
