Stop Live Exports has formally written to Julie Collins, Federal Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, raising serious concerns about a recent decision to shift live export regulatory costs from industry onto Australian taxpayers.
This decision means the public is now being asked to subsidise the oversight of a trade that is widely recognised as inherently harmful to animals.
