We are thrilled to announce the successful appointment of three exceptional professionals to our team at Stop Live Exports, each bringing a wealth of experience and diverse skill sets that we can draw upon as we prepare for the upcoming State and Federal elections.
Jay Still: With extensive experience in event production and a strong passion for animal and marine welfare, Jay has been a key figure in numerous advocacy events. She has been instrumental in organising rallies for No WA Shark Cull (now Shark Safety WA), including the highly successful protests at Cottesloe Beach. Jay also co-organised the March 4 Justice Perth Rally, managing permits, police liaison, and logistics. Currently, she is a founding organiser of the Captain Paul Watson Foundation in Perth, leading efforts in fundraising, awareness, and campaigning. Jay’s dedication to animal welfare and her ability to manage complex, large-scale events make her an essential asset for Stop Live Exports as we plan on-the-ground events and rallies during the critical election period.
Ruth Gourley: Ruth has been a dedicated supporter of Stop Live Exports for over 15 years, attending numerous protests and rallies and regularly volunteering her media relations expertise. Ruth has a wealth of experience in communications, media, and event management, having worked with government, corporate, and non-profit organisations over her 25-year career. Since founding Shine Communications in 2005, Ruth has worked on a range of PR and communications projects, from creating content for publications and managing media relations to handling contentious media issues for various clients. Her recent focus on online content creation and social media management for not-for-profit organisations ensures that her skills are well-suited to Stop Live Exports’ goals. Ruth’s deep-rooted passion for the cause and her experience in crafting media strategies will be key in amplifying our message and engaging both supporters and stakeholders ahead of the elections.
Laticia Bruce: Laticia, founder and operator of ML Consulting, specialises in digital strategy, marketing, and communications. With over four years of experience, she has successfully led major initiatives at Australia Against Live Exports (AALE), where she directed high-impact social media campaigns and government advocacy efforts. Laticia’s recent work includes leading an influencer engagement campaign that garnered strong support from high-profile figures and managing cross-organisational collaborations to advocate for the cessation of live sheep exports. She also developed the AALE website, which has played a critical role in amplifying the organisation’s digital footprint and engaging supporters. Her expertise in social media strategy, website optimisation, and email marketing has proven instrumental in driving meaningful results, including consistently high engagement rates across platforms. Laticia’s passion for animal welfare and her innovative approach to digital advocacy will be essential in helping Stop Live Exports strengthen its online presence and rally support for the upcoming elections.
To achieve our goals, we need people power! The combined skills of Jay, Ruth, and Laticia will bolster our efforts as we gear up for the critical months ahead. Together, we look forward to making a significant impact in our fight against live animal exports.
Stay tuned for more updates on our upcoming initiatives!
